Instructions:
Preparation
- Preheating the oven :
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Preparation of the dough :
- Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Arrange the Camembert slices in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-3 cm border around it.
- Cooking the bacon :
- In a frying pan, brown the smoked bacon until golden and crispy.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Spread the bacon on the slices of Camembert.
- Assembly :
- Drizzle everything with honey and sprinkle with ground black pepper.
- Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the Camembert and bacon, forming a scalloped edge.
- Gilding :
- Brush the puff pastry with the beaten egg for a nice golden color.
Cooking
- Oven cooking :
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
Finishing
- Trim :
- Garnish with fresh thyme before serving warm, if desired.
